My name is Wyatt Tenison. I am a born and raised Alaskan who learned to cope with the darkness of the north through a computer screen. My parents invested in my interest in computers from a young age; buying me my first programming book at 12 years old. It always seemed obvious I was going to work with computers, and, while that may not forever be the case, I'm here for it.
I have spent much of the last ten years (before COVID) studying games and systems architecture, with special emphasis on rendering systems. Today I am grinding to catch up on web development technologies and practices. This website is my first endeavor into the web space, and I have found it to be quite an enjoyable experience, especially when compared to the harsh nature of C development.
I currently work as a website admin for a company in Anchorage, AK, and am looking for further opportunities to grow my skills and to provide meaningful value to a team with passion and a clear direction.
As I am getting older I am realizing less is more, and I am trying to bring that mindset to how I code and design systems. At the end of the day, I hope to leave things better than when I arrived and to increase, even if just slightly, the quality of the human experience.
A website for Deus Vultage social media accounts and relavant information. (WIP)
I stared with AK Safety as a sales rep, but when I moved out of Alaska, because I like the company (and they liked me), I switched to website maintenance to keep on with them. I currently maintain their updates and webstore, as well as provide other site related support/modifications.
With Catalyst Cannabis I managed the organization and upkeep of operations supplies, oversaw safety and compliance measures, and repaired and installed on-site business information techology systems.
My first working exposure to Go, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript to create a product. Began May 2024 and implemented a first working version later Oct 2024.
Developed many small personal projects, such as 3D 'graph' visualizers, pseudo-random mesh generators (SImplex Noise, Marching Cubes), and tiny game prototypes. Minor experience implementing compute shaders with GLSL.
Implemented a 'basic' Vulkan renderer on Windows using C, GLSL, VulkanSDK, GLFW, GLM.
Worked I.T. for church in Palmer, AK. Worked as a laborer for local Anchorage food bank. Drove/expedited for a political campaign.
Guided students through Programming I labs that taught them the fundamentals of CS using Java.

So I may understand my environment, expectations, and resposibilities; in service of producing effective work and effecient communication.
I was raised with an expectation of orderliness and cleanliness, which I have embraced and invested much personal time into. If you're not early, you're not on time.
Critical thinking and temperamental habits for dealing with dicult situations developed through many dicult life experiences. It's not about being right; it's about solving a problem.
I will read / watch / engage with whatever content necessary when given an end (internally motivated or otherwise); web development, this website, being my latest interest.
